Spireites on loan defender Phil Picken is due to remain with the Spireites till the end of the season. Picken's parent club Manchester United have agreed in principal to extend the deal with Picken not looking to break into United first team squad a loan deal for the remainder of the season is the best option.

Picken joined the club at the same time as Kevan Hurst on loan, with Hurst due to go back to Sheffield United in the new year this is positive news. All we need now is Wolverhampton Wanderers to agree a deal for Sammy Clingan and we will have two out of the three loan players sorted till the summer at least.
