Tyson Knocks us out

Sadly there was no victory for Chesterfield and the County of Derbyshire against the Sheriffs of Nottingham at Saltergate yesterday. A Lovely sunny day was blessed for this 1pm kick off, and the game set off. With rumours of Forest Supporters in the Saltergate Kop the action thankfully was all on the pitch.
Sadly we decided despite being at home to let forest have a two goal lead. A cross from ex-loanee Sammy Clingan who incidentally clapped the Kop end before the game as they cheered his name before the match started, was missed by Barry Roche and former captain Ian Breckin headed into the net with Alan O'Hare desperately trying to clear off the line. In particular I was disappointed by Breckin's celebration as if he never played for us in his life, i thought he would have had a bit more respect but then again he's a footballer not a diplomat. In complete contrast to Sammy Clingan's substitution as he was applauded by all four sides of the ground despite having a poor game.

Second goal was given to Forest on a plate by Alex Bailey who played the ball into the path of Nathan Tyson who slotted the ball past Barry Roche. Straight away Phil Picken scored his first ever league goal and a contender for goal of the season from fully 25 yards and we were back in it.

Larkin had an excellent chance in the second half from point blank range but found the keeper and Forest scored with three minutes to go. And we also had a chance cleared off the line.

All in all a rather game effort from our lads but we didn't deserve to win after we gifted them three goals. For all our effort and I cannot fault our team for that we didn't have enough fire power to trouble Breckin who was immense and by far their best player. Sadly it's back to the drawing board for Roy and Rico as we now have nine defeats in ten games and five consecutive defeats as well, this season is now a relegation one. We badly need that win to keep us in this division, we are now down to thirteenth place and are really looking over our shoulders, with games v Barnsley,Colchester and Huddersfield to come I doubt we will get the points necessary from these matches but then we have Milton Keynes Dons and Port Vale followed by the crunch last home game against promotion favourites Swansea City, it's bite your nails time on St Margarets Drive.

Mark Allott an immense performance
