Two Match Review

Saturday's game against promotion chasing Tranmere was a classic game spoilt by the referee. Every Five seconds he decided blow against or for the Blues, Jason Mcateer Tranmere's captain and chief whistleblower toyed with the referee all afternoon always having an influence on the decisions the official was to make.

Jason Mcateer a thorn in referee's sides.

At the start of the game the Chesterfield Supporters put their best rendition of "Amarillo" to the test and it worked. The First Half ebbed and flowed with the Blues having chances and Rovers having some themselves. At the End of the first half Blatherwick headed his third goal of the season from a McMaster free kick.

In the second half Tranmere put Eugene Dadi on and as he usually does caused panic in our defence. Mcateer gained a free kick and from that resulting kick Jackson equalised. Then Rovers had the momentum with five minuted to go Dadi curled a delightful shot into Muggleton's bottom corner. It had been coming but we didn't deserve to lose, The Spireites manager Roy Mcfarland decided Folan was his next best option in place of the chief, with time running out Mcmaster missed a good chance the ball ran to Carlos Logan on loan from Manchester City and he thumped the ball past achterberg with a slight deflection. Cue mayhem on the Kop but we didn't deserve to lose.

To yesterday's game at Colchester, well the pub beforehand was lovely and that was about it. Slack defending again costs us with the players switching off at a Set Piece. Call me a snob (how can I be with our ground?) but Layer Road is rubbish. I really believe that Matlock's ground is better well Blyth Spartans is certainly better.

That's the Play Offs out the way then so it's a top ten finish for me. If only the FL would look into positional prizes i.e. Cash.
