DOWNES SIGNS NEW DEAL
Chesterfield defender Aaron Downes has signed a new one year extension to his contract, which means he will now be staying at Saltergate until June 2009.
The 22 year old Australian Under 23 International said: "Although one or two other clubs were starting to sniff around, I am delighted to be extending my stay at Chesterfield as I just love being here."
Aaron Downes added: "Rico is making some great changes to the squad and I hope the fans will back us all the way to promotion next season."
