Baz, a couple of errors but a couple of fine saves too.
“We could have had seven” were the words from Bristol City manager Gary Johnson, he was quite wrong of course, it should have been eight. Several times we were cut open by some crisp passing and movement from an excellent Bristol City side, if we lost at Forest 4-0 unfairly then we lost at Bristol fair and square. Straight from the kick off we were asleep and they caught us with ANOTHER set play goal and it was 1-0 Bristol.

Coming back and going forward we were ok with Larkin making some moves down the wing but sometimes to no effect but at least it was movement and relief for the defence. It was a move down the opposite wing from Kevan Hurst which created our equaliser, Hurst dinking one way then the other shaped for a shot then played a lovely ball across the face for Larkin to tap in at the far post.

All the hard work was undone just before half time from another set play which involved a quick free kick from man of the match Lee Johnson and Brown scored after Roche lost his head and ended up nearly out of his area and we were chasing the game again.

Second Half started and a poor defensive error AGAIN was the cost for City to go further in front and kill the game, Roche I felt was at fault as he left his area again and was lobbed by a chap scoring his first goal in League football…game over.

The rest of the game was a mauling City could easily have murdered us but they chose to hit the woodwork instead four times, we had a token offside goal from Hazell but it was too late and enough for the 153 loyal Spireites who made their way down to the South West. If we continue to defend like this then we will get hammered every week and not just on Wednesday night.

When will Roy decide to keep an undefeated team, we go unbeaten in two games and he changes the strike force we have two strikers who recently got goals getting splinters yesterday, make competition by keeping non-scoring strikers on the bench, on Wednesday he should play Folan and Larkin upfront and I will be disappointed if not.

A mention of Steve Brooker the convicted striker who played upfront yesterday for City, it was like a hero's welcome they way City fans embarrassed themselves applauding him for doing a bit of time, personally if I had been sent to jail for what happened I wouldn't expect to have a job when I get back but then when has football ever played by the rules.
