Manager Talk from both camps:

Yahoo website quoted Vale Boss Martin Foyle in a surprising attack of non-vale blinkeredness.

Foyle said: "It was lucky and we will take the three points and run. The boys deserve a lot of credit for the way they dug in but Chesterfield caused us a lot of problems.

"We were very poor for the first 30 minutes and that just shows how we can play when we are not at it. It was just not good enough.

"But Leon's first goal arrived at a great time just before half time and we played at a higher tempo for most of the second half.

"I'm chuffed for Leon and five goals already is a real bonus for him and the team. He's the sort of lad who benefits from someone putting an arm round him and he listens and learns.

TeamTalk quote Roy Mcfarland as saying:

"We were totally in control in the first half. Vale's equaliser was a fluke and they didn't do enough to deserve it. We should never have lost the game.

"The things that happened for Vale's winner were things that maybe would have happened last season. We were sloppy in defence and gave away possession too easily.

"If you score twice away from home you should win, it's as simple as that."
