We never came out of the changing rooms, what was the point of us turning up? We met the Wednesday juggernaut head on and collapsed underneath it's wheels. It wasn't embarrassing but it was pretty naff. Straight away the Owls took the game to us and this was on our turf you know Fortress Saltergate supposedly intimidating? Hmm I don't quite think so on saturday's performance.
My Sheffield Wednesday supporting "friend" came up to me after the game and said "You were rubbish" and I said "yes we were" amongst other expletives.
Now don't get me wrong here I'msure the players are hurt after that performance but the one time when it really matters to us they go missing and that's what I'm angry about, so many times aginst the bigger clubs do we find a way of playing stupid football and kicking ourselves in the teeth. I thought that we had changed all of that with a good performance against Hull but no we go and blow it again in the big games.
Now forgive me for not being a football manager and just a supporter but even I can see that at the moment our midfield is weak and just not good enough for this level. Allott, played ok but his distribution and goal ratio for an ex-striker is woeful, Niven, not fit at all, Hudson, playing for a move to some bigger club to which he won't go, and Innes, is not good enough for League One.
Rant Over, Stockport coming up Tuesday night I'd play the kid from Arsenal as we need a kick up the backside.
