Mcfarland is still in the hunt for a central midfielder. Sammy Clingan has long been the number one target for the Blues. Sadly Wolverhampton Wanderers don't see it that way and have turned down three offers of £50000 for the Northern Ireland international. Clingan meanwhile has been in the wars and broken his arm in a freak accident in a Wolves friendly, Clingan after having a shot fell and broke his arm in two places.

Compton Street will do a full review of the Pre-Season Friendlies after the Halifax Town game on Saturday.

The Spireites so far have not lost pre-season having secured wins against Matlock and Staveley and a draw away at Scarborough on Saturday with Steve Blatherwick the goalscorer.
