The Spireites have completed their Pre-Season Fixtures with a defeat and a victory, the loss at home to a reserve Aston Villa side 2-0 was a disappointment in front of just under 2000 supporters. Villa had a few first team regulars in the side but were comfortable winners which still means we have only once at home this YEAR.
After that the Spireites travelled to Oxford and won 3-1 with goals from Caleb Folan (typical pre-season form, please continue into the big games Caleb!) Alan O'Hare (with a header, must have been dreaming) and another goal from Aaron Downes.
It has been announced that the Spireites will play at Inkersall Road against Staveley Miners Welfare on Tuesday 15 August 2006 7.30pm Kick off.

Michael Jordan has signed a one year deal with the Blues after a two week trial, Jordan has previously been at Arsenal and has played at England Youth level.

The Spireites used goalkeeper Michael Poke in the game v Aston Villa as Barry Roche tweaked a thigh muscle and Michael Jordan has a bruised ankle after training, Roche has since recovered enough to be on the bench on Saturday in Oxford. Poke incidentally is available for loan from his parent club Southampton should we need him according to manager George Burley .
