SPIREITES DEADLINE DAY DOUBLE SWOOP
Chesterfield has made two deadline day signings, bringing in a striker and a central defender.

Jamie Ward, who is a 20 year old former Aston Villa trainee, has signed a two and a half year contract until June 2009.
He has scored eleven goals this season for the League Two club, and has been in demand from a number of clubs with media reports of £100,000 offers being made.
The Spireites have also signed French central defender Sebastien Grimaldi on a free transfer from Belgian First Division club Excelsior Mousron,
The 27 year old, who has also been with French clubs Lyon, AS Cannes, and FC Anger, has signed until the end of the season. He had trained with the squad this week and played a full 90 minutes in the reserve friendly against York City on Monday.
Chesterfield manager Roy McFarland said: "I am delighted that we have been able to make these signings as it provides extra quality and competition for the squad."
Subject to final clearance by the football authorities, both players are expected to go straight into the Spireites squad for this Saturday's home game at Saltergate against AFC Bournemouth.
Meanwhile, League Two club Boston United has agreed to extend defender Shane Nicholson's loan period until the end of the season.
