Sheridan warns against complacency

The Spireites sit four points ahead of fourth-placed Shrewsbury and only need to draw one of their remaining four fixtures to move into League One.

Such a comfortable position was far from secure at half-time as the Silkmen went into the break with a 1-0 lead thanks to Lewis Chalmers' penalty.

However, Sheridan's men showed the sort of spirit that has typified their campaign to emerge victorious, with Craig Davies and Danny Whitaker getting on the scoresheet.

Sheridan said: "I knew it would be a hard game, they are an awkward side who are good at what they do and they've got a good away record so I knew it would be difficult.

"We have got some tough games coming up, luckily we are in a good position; we have got a hard run in on paper but we will look after ourselves because we know we need a point to get promotion. Thereafter, we want to try and win as many games as possible."
