SCOTT SELLARS JOINS THE SPIREITES
Chesterfield FC has appointed Scott Sellars as the new assistant manager to replace Alan Knill who has left the club to become the manager of Bury.
A diminutive winger of some note with the likes of Leeds United, Blackburn Rovers, Bolton Wanderers, and Newcastle United, Sheffield born Scott possessed a devastating left foot and played over 500 professional games, including many in the Premiership.
After a spell in Denmark and in the lower leagues with Huddersfield Town and Mansfield Town he became a fully qualified coach and joined Sheffield United's Academy staff where he has been responsible for the development of youngsters, including coaching the U18's team that play in FA Premier Academy League. He also managed one of the two Sheffield United reserve teams.
Chesterfield manager Lee Richardson said: "I have known Scott for many years as we played together at Blackburn Rovers and Huddersfield Town. We completed our coaching qualifications together so I am delighted that he is joining us."
Scott Sellars joins Chesterfield to start work immediately after being released from his contract by Sheffield United.
Scott Sellars said: I am honoured to get this chance to move my career forward with Chesterfield and am really looking forward to getting stuck in straight away."
