ROCHDALE GAME POSTPONED
Next week's League Two game at Saltergate against Rochdale on Saturday 17 November 2007, kick-off 3.00pm, has been postponed due to international call-ups.
For the first time ever three Chesterfield players have all been called-up at the same time for international duty and they will be going to all parts of the globe to serve their country.
Two players have been called-up for U21 European Championship Qualifying matches.
Adam Rooney is in the Republic of Ireland U21 squad for the away game against Montengro on 16 November and at home against Bulgaria in Athlone on 20 November.
Jamie Ward is in the Northern Ireland squad for two home games in Lurgan against Luxembourg on 16 November and against Moldova on 20 November.
Travelling the furthest is team captain Aaron Downes who is in the Quantas U23 squad for two Beijing Olympic Qualifying matches. He is off to Australia for the game against Iraq in Gosford, Australia on 17 November and then travels to the Far East for the game against DPR Korea in Pyongyang on 21 November.
It's a historic moment for the club and emphasizes the array of talent that Chesterfield currently has assembled at Saltergate.
Chesterfield manager Lee Richardson said: "It is an honour to get the chance to be involved with football at international level and we wish the three players all the best and hope they fully enjoy the experience."
Meanwhile, the Rochdale fixture will be re-arranged for a later date.
