Pre-Season Friendly List

The Spireites will play two pre-season friendlies at home in the lead-up to the new football season, which starts on Saturday 9 August 2008. Chesterfield will play Championship neighbours Sheffield Wednesday and Premiership hopefuls Hull City.

There will also be four away games, including the annual visit to Matlock Town, the first ever visit to the Pirelli Stadium to play Nigel Clough's Burton Albion, and a short trip to Dronfield to play the world's oldest football club, Sheffield FC.

But the pre-season programme kicks-off with a trip to Gainsborough Trinity and a chance to catch up with two former Spireites, Trinity's assistant manager and veteran striker David Reeves and coach Steve Blatherwick.
