Nottingham Forest come up the M1 to visit North Derbyshire for the first time since 1997 when they lost to a Spireite side two divisions below them. Forest that day were woeful, somehow on saturday I hope they play the same. The reds have been looking in ominous form in recent weeks which has seen former Spireite manager Frank Barlow and fellow manager Ian Mcparland receive the March manager of the month awards.
Forest have spent big in comparative terms to us with new signings Nathan Tyson, Grant Holt, Julian Bennett and Danny Cullip. It will be also interesting to see former spireites Ian Breckin and on loan Sammy Clingan. Breckin was sold by the Spireites in 2002 for £100000 to Wigan Athletic and Clingan appeared last season and this term with a £50000 bid turned down by parent club Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Forest Form: WWDDWW

Squad: Pedersen, Curtis, Morgan, Breckin, Bennett,Grant Holt, Clingan, Perch, Commons , Tyson, Gary Holt, Gamble, Gardner, Lester, Thompson, Cullip.

Forest Five @ Saltergate

96/97 FAC5W1-0 Curtis (pen)
48/49 D2 W 2-1 Hudson (2)
47/48 D2 D 0-0
46/47 D2 D 1-1 Ottewell
38/39 D2 W 7-1 Lyon (4), Mackie, Milligan, Bonass

In the Spireites Camp good news, Barry Roche will be fit enough to replace young Rob Beckwith in the sticks and Reuben Hazell has resumed training after having his pot off this week following a broken foot, but is at least two weeks away from a place on the bench.
Our recent form is shocking, we are slowly being pulled into a relegation battle. 51 points was enough for Milton Keynes to avoid the drop last season we currently are on 51 points, but if we were not to gain another point this season I would acknowledge this season as a complete failure. So where do we get another point from? by playing attacking football is what the fans are saying by getting back to 4-4-2 and finishing the season like we semi-started it. It will be interesting to see if the Chief is fit to play, personally a place on the bench at best with Folan and Larkin upfront for starters and Heath sat next to the Chief.

Squad: Roche, Bailey, Picken, Downes, O'Hare, Hall, Allott, Niven, O'Hara, Hurst, Smith, Larkin, Heath, Allison, Folan, Davies, Beckwith.

Injured: Kovacs, Blatherwick, Nicholson, Hazell.
On Loan: N'Toya (Oxford United)

A Final note, hopefully there will be no Forest supporters in the Kop end on Saturday but that's like me wishing no Wednesday fans on the Kop last season. If you spot any potential trouble or any abuse whatsoever please do not hesitate to inform your nearest steward, who will probably do nothing at all or inform his collegues. Sadly as we haven't filled our own end for this fixture then it is likely that some Forest Supporters/Idiots will be in our end. Please do not rise to the bait and start any trouble yourself otherwise you will find yourself ejected and more than likely banned from Saltergate.
