Phil Picken the 19 year old Manchester United reserve player joins the Spireites till 31 Dec 2005. Picken can play in either midfield or on the right side of defence will go straight into the Spireites squad to play at Oldham on Saturday. Chesterfield assistant manager Lee Richardson say's "it will give our injury hit squad a boost". Picken played for United in their 3-0 win over Bolton on Monday night and joined the Spireites for training today (Thursday) at Warminster Road, Sheffield.

Sheffield United player and Chesterfield born  Kevan Hurst is back where he belongs having joined the Spireites on a deal stretching to December 31 2005. Hurst is a wide midfielder who can also play upfront, he along with Picken joined the Spireites for training today.

Meanwhile Honour Gombami will not be joining the Spireites after he and the club were refused a work permit. Gombami will go back to his native Zimbabwe.

Roy Mcfarland will be missing from the bench on saturday as he and most of the youth team recover from Mumps which swept through the club this week. Lee Richardson will be assisted by Dave Thompson at Boundary Park Oldham at the weekend.

If recovered the youth team will be playing Doncaster Rovers at Saltergate with an 11am Kick off.
