NEWS FROM THE REC

I saw it first...................

Big game Saturday well for us anyway! Don't really care what Wednesday think. Latest News is that we have a selection problem, five strikers and only two places up front presuming that we only play with two up front. As our midfield is crippled with injuries as Hudson,Innes, and Niven are injured presumed missing the only option maybe to play three up.
My hunch is that we won't as a point is what we will gladly take but just imagine if we can beat the Owls on their patch the first time since March 24 1976 we won 3-1 that day with goals from Malcolm Darling (2) and one from Rodney Fern played in front of 10456. Expected crowd on saturday will be around the 25000 mark which is a true testiment to the loyal Sheffield Wednesday fans and my hat off to them!

Last time at Hillsborough was last December 2003 and the score was 0-0 with Town starting to believe that they could stay up with a backs to the wall at times but good enough performance to earn a draw. Last year I was one of those with a santa hat on, this year who knows what we shall wear?

From Wednesday's point of view last time out they lost at Swindon having been 2-0 up in the 78th minute and that's shocking really but Swindon are a good side but still to concede three in twelve minutes Paul Sturrock must have been tearing his hair out. Ex-Stag Lee Peacock won't be fit for them so expect Adam Proudlock to play up front with last seasons goal machine Steven Mclean although the goals were for Scunthorpe United.

We are a much better side than last year so I'll expect a different game we may be more open than last year as confidence is high however on the road we are a different story!
