Chesterfield midfielder Jamie Lowry has signed a new one-year contract to keep him at the club until June 2011. Lowry made 15 appearances for the Spireites last season before suffering cruciate ligament damage ended his season prematurely. The 23-year-old is still sidelined as a result of the problem but hopes to start full training soon. "This is the worst injury of my career and I appreciate the support shown by the club," he told the club's official website. "I have spent most of the summer at Lilleshall and am hoping that I can build on the progress made there now we are back for pre-season. I want to get back into full training as soon as possible." Elsewhere, Wade Small has decided not to accept the offer of a new contract from the Spireites and has left the club.
