Chesterfield chairman Barry Hubbard has revealed that star striker Jack Lester is close to agreeing a new contract.
The 33-year-old, who has scored 50 goals in the last two seasons with the Spireites, still has one year left on his current deal.
"I think there'll be some news on that [Lester's contract] next week," Hubbard told BBC Radio Sheffield.
"John [Sheridan] knows Jack, and obviously he'll sit down with him and get something sorted."
