Richardson to contest FA charge

Chesterfield manager Lee Richardson is set to deny a Football Association charge of improper conduct and seek a personal hearing.

Richardson was last week charged in relation to an incident that occurred during the Spireites' 3-1 defeat to Lincoln at Sincil Bank on October 18.

Richardson had a verbal exchange with referee Michael Jones at half time which resulted in the Blues' boss watching the second half of the game from the stands.

A club spokesman said: "Following advice from the League Managers Association, Lee Richardson is denying the charge and is seeking a personal hearing."
