Is Hurst on his Way?

Sheffield United Manager Neil Warnock has hinted that Kevan Hurst is likely to go back to his parent club. On the Blades official website,

"Kevan and Ian (Ross) will probably come back in January. They've had a sustained number of games out on loan, and their have been one or two good reviews about Kevan at Chesterfield".

Incidentally this would hamper us as any on loan player leaving would but it's Sheffield United's call he's their player and there's not a great deal we can do unless Kevan pleads to play with us till the end of the season. More than likely all we have done is put him in the shop window for another club to sign him a la JCR,Clingan and Fulop to a certain extent.

What's more worrying is who will replace him? Adam Smith is the likely candidate but puts in one good performance in ten so will Roy make another offer for George Boyd of Stevenage or Kyle Critchell the Southampton winger who is on loan at Torquay but more than likely it's going to be Jonathan Hayes from Reading who spent a couple of weeks on trial here around October.

Anyway January is going to be a busy period for Roy with the possible departures of Caleb Folan and the rumoured Derek Niven. Is Carl Asaba still available?

Only a few more games for Kevan
