Hubbard proud of new stadium

Chairman Barrie Hubbard has spoken of his pride as Chesterfield prepare to play their first match at the new b2net Stadium. The Spireites have swapped Saltergate, their home for their entire 139-year history, for the £13.5million arena at Whittington Moor. Derby will be the first visitors to the 10,300 all-seater stadium on Saturday. Ahead of the pre-season friendly, the long-serving Hubbard told Press Association Sport: "There is a feeling of pride. It has been 20-odd years that I have been involved in trying to find a new stadium for the club. "I first became chairman 27 years ago and I have had two separate one-year sabbaticals but apart from that I have always been involved. "It has been a long time coming but it is all worth it now because it is an impressive sight. I think we are all looking forward to Saturday with some pride."
