Gillingham Preview

It was April Fools Day 2000 the last time we travelled to Priestfield and we were the fools that day. We lost 1-0, but that's typical we don't often win in Kent. It was the 31st August 1996 when that happened a Jonathan Howard goal in the last minute secured that win.

Since then Gillingham have been promoted to the championship and relegated last season. Neale Cooper who's former club were thrashed by the Spireites on Saturday is the new face at Priestfield taking over from John Gorman who in turn took over from Andy Hessanthaler now just a player at the grand old age of

39.

Last time out the Gills secured an excellent point away at Tranmere. 2-2 it finished with Darren Byfield getting a brace and taking his tally up to Five for the season so far.

Squad news for the Spireites, it's too soon for Alex Bailey and Aaron Downes to make it back into the squad, however expect Steve Blatherwick who only failed a late fitness test against Hartlepool to come back into the side to replace Alan O'Hare. We may drop Larkin to the bench and play Sammy Clingan instead with the Chief missing out in place of Caleb Folan but I would want us to keep a winning side with the aforementioned Blatherwick as the only change.
