Once again another manager has described us as a “direct side”, this week it’s the turn of former Huddersfield,Bury and Burnley Striker Ronnie Jepson who was no Pele himself mind to depict us in the John Duncan bracket. I don’t honestly think that other sides scouting departments know the way to North Derbyshire, I personally believe that they just read the last managers comments, i.e. Merson’s not O’Driscolls as he was conspicuous by his absence and don’t bother coming to watch, because if they did they would use the fact that we play football with two wide men and we also use the football through the middle. If we use the Chief as a target it’s only because other side’s can’t cope with the fact that he is troublesome for opposition defences.

Anyway moving on from our siege mentality, so far Roy McFarland is still our Manager despite being bookie’s favourite for the boss at County Rivals Derby County. The Ground Issue rumbles on with a slight…just slight possibility that we could move in by August 2007 unlikely but check out the official website on www.chesterfield-fc.co.uk for the latest.
