And, having already secured promotion, he vowed his side will again go on and try to wrap up the title with a two-point advantage over Bury with two matches remaining.
He said: "It's disappointing because we were hoping to get the right result that would have helped us take the title but I will hold my hands up and say Bury were probably the better side.
"They have got two quality players up front and they just punished us, and when we go a bit higher that's what we need to do better on.
"We were sloppy and switched off at times but full credit to them, second half we came out and had a real go and got at them and created problems but we got done with a sucker punch once or twice.
"But we've achieved promotion which I'm chuffed to bits with for the fans and the club and now I want to try and win the league because that proves you are the best side."
