Spireites defender Alan O'Hare has signed a two year extension to his current deal. O'Hare's contract was up at the end of the season and Chesterfield manager Roy Mcfarland moved swiftly to increase the irish defender's current deal.

O'Hare has currently been out of the Spireites current eleven but Mcfarland values the irish defender's contribution "He was unlucky to be injured at the start of the season so has missed out on getting a regular place in the side. O'Hare is an integral part of our squad for the future so we are delighted he has agreed to sign".

The Spireites have also announced that another defender is to be given an extension to his current deal. Alex Bailey signed in the summer from Arsenal has been on a one year deal which was to be reviewed after a period of three months. Bailey has been in superb form and the club  has announced that the London born player will be given a further year.

More announcements regarding players contracts in the near future, of the players offered extensions currently Mark Hudson is the only player yet to sign a new contract.
