Craig Davies has spoken of his delight after scoring the first ever goal at the b2net Stadium but was happier simply to have opened his account for Chesterfield. The Spireites have swapped Saltergate, their home for their entire 139-year history, for the £13.5million arena at Whittington Moor. Davies, who spent time on loan at Port Vale last term, joined the Spireites from Brighton earlier this summer but was unable to prevent his new club from falling to a 5-4 friendly defeat to Derby. He told the club's official website: "Obviously it was nice to know that but it was important for me to get off the mark. There's only two to three weeks until the season (starts) so I'm really getting in my stride for that." On the overall performance, he added: "Obviously the result didn't go our way but it was a decent performance by the boys, we get stuck in there against a Championship team and I thought we did ourselves justice."
