Confirmation that the Spireites have completed the signing of former Oldham Athletic, Shrewsbury Town and Gretna defender Danny Hall on a one year deal.

The 24 year old former Oldham trainee has so far made 149 first team appearances and is set to resume his football career with Chesterfield after recently being made redundant when Scottish Premier League side Gretna went into administration.

He is seen as a replacement for Hungarian defender Janos Kovacs who recently left Chesterfield to join Lincoln City.

Manager Lee Richardson said: "Danny is a versatile player who I have monitored whilst in Scotland and he has become available due to Gretna's unfortunate demise."

Meanwhile Danny Hall said: "I am really pleased to be joining Chesterfield and think the competition for places will bring out the best in us all. I reckon we could be in for a good season."
