Chesterfield will check on Danny Whitaker ahead of the visit of Wycombe.
Whitaker missed the 2-2 draw at York last weekend with a groin problem and the midfielder is rated 50/50 for Saturday.
Striker Scott Boden will also be assessed after he suffered a knock while playing for the reserves in midweek.
Caretaker manager Tommy Wright has bolstered his squad this week with the loan signings of Huddersfield central midfielder Chris Atkinson and Sunderland goalkeeper Ben Wilson. Both players are in contention to make the squad, Atkinson could make his debut but Wilson is likely to sit on the bench as back-up to Richard O'Donnell.
Veteran striker Jack Lester could be in line for his first start of the season. The 36-year-old has scored a couple of goals in his half-dozen substitute appearances this season - totalling around 110 minutes and thus confirming his overall value to the squad.
Wright will be looking to deliver Chesterfield's first league win of the season following four consecutive draws after the opening-day defeat at AFC Wimbledon.
Dean Morgan could be in line for his Wycombe debut against his former club.
The 28-year-old striker agreed a short-term deal until January on Friday and goes straight into the squad.
Fellow striker Dennis Oli is doubtful after being substituted 21 minutes into last weekend's 1-1 draw with Cheltenham after picking up a knock.
Richard Logan replaced him in that fixture and is expected to start alongside Jo Kuffour.
Midfielder Matt Spring also limped off in that fixture but has recovered in time. Gareth Ainsworth is on standby again should Spring suffer any setbacks.
Anthony Stewart is also fit again and comes into contention but Matt Bloomfield is unavailable.
The midfielder is still struggling with a groin problem and is about 10 days away from a return.
Matt McClure and Adam Thompson are available after returning from international duty with Northern Ireland Under-21s.
