Chesterfield V Mansfield at Proact Stadium - Match Preview

Richards available for derby

Marc Richards comes back into the reckoning for Chesterfield as the Sky Bet League Two leaders prepare to host local rivals Mansfield.

Richards, who missed the 1-0 win at Oxford last weekend with a knock, gives manager Paul Cook another option up front. He will be hoping for a recall along with the likes of Armand Gnanduillet, Sam Togwell, Jamie Devitt, Ryan Edwards and Gary McSheffrey while fit-again club captain Ian Evatt still awaits his debut.

Ahead of the Saturday lunchtime kick-off, Cook said: "Last time we went into a big local game, it was against Rotherham. We let the supporters down and we let ourselves down. But we've evolved as a club since then and this is our next big test in terms of local rivalry.

"We know what it means to our supporters but we also know what it means to them to be top of the league and get promoted."

Ben Hutchinson is expected to be fit for Mansfield when they make the short trip to the Proact Stadium.

Hutchinson (hamstring) was substituted as a precautionary measure early in the second half of the Stags' 3-0 home win over Northampton last weekend but the striker should be fit for Saturday's lunchtime kick-off.

Manager Paul Cox, who celebrated his 100th game in charge of Mansfield against the Cobblers, has no new problems.

Midfielder Chris Clements is in the early stages of his recovery from damaged knee ligaments while centre-half Martin Riley will serve the second game of a three-match suspension.
