Spireites duo sit out
Sam Hird and Ian Evatt are suspended for Chesterfield as they prepare for their first game of 2014 against Bury.
Both players' one-match suspensions have been carried forward to the visit of the Shakers after the games at Northampton and Cheltenham were postponed because of waterlogged pitches. In their absence, Liam Cooper and Matty Brown will form the Spireites' central-defensive partnership for the first time in a competitive fixture.
The postponed games have provided time for the likes of Marc Richards, Gary Roberts (both hamstring), Sam Morsy (knee) and Jimmy Ryan (shoulder) to recover from injuries, leaving manager Paul Cook with a fully-fit squad.
Gary McSheffrey, approaching the end of his short-term contract and allowed to feature for Scunthorpe this week in a reserve-team fixture, will not be involved but new signing Dan Gardner is expected to make his debut from the bench following his arrival from FC Halifax.
Bury striker Daniel Nardiello, with five goals already during his stay at the JD Stadium, has extended his loan for the rest of the season.
New signing Pablo Mills could make his Shakers debut and midfielder Tom Soares (hamstring) is nearing a return.
Tom Pratt left the club at the start of the calendar year and more could follow with William Edjenguele being frozen out of the squad recently.
