Chesterfield FC vice chairman Jason Elliott has indicated that he intends to stand down at the end of the June after six years on the CFC Board. He has recently started a new career in retail, and he and his wife Alex are expecting their first child in the near future.

Jason Elliott said: "The big changes in my personal life mean I cannot continue to provide the level of time commitment needed to fulfil my board responsibilities so I have asked to stand down at the end of the June."

"I am a Spireite through and through and will continue to support the team as I have done for over thirty years."

"I want to publicly thank chairman Barrie Hubbard, and fellow board members for their excellent stewardship of the club, and to manager Lee Richardson for everything he is trying to do to bring success."

"I will treasure the memories of serving the club as a director but I have done my little bit and with the club now more financially stable we can look forward to an exciting future with a new stadium on the horizon."

Chesterfield chairman Barrie Hubbard said: "We will miss Jason's bubbly personality in the boardroom but fully understand the reasons for his decision. He stumped up a sizable financial contribution in the club's hour of need a few years ago and we will always be grateful for his support when it was needed most. We wish Jason and Alex all the best for the future"
