SPIREITES SUPPORT ROBERT'S CHALLENGE
Chesterfield FC is supporting a local man who is celebrating his 30th birthday by taking on a number of sporting challenges to raise funds for the Association of Children's Hospices.
The Spireites have donated a football shirt signed by Chesterfield players for inclusion in a charity auction this weekend for, Coal Aston born and Dronfield School educated, Robert Hepworth who this year is aiming to raise £5,000.
He will be competing in the London Marathon, the Three Peaks of Yorkshire Challenge, The Royal Windsor Triathlon, and the Three Peaks of Great Britain Challenge. He is also getting on a bike to compete in the British leg of the famous Tour de France and is also cycling from Lands Ends to John O'Groats.
The chartered surveyor, who now works in London, said: "Having reached the milestone of 30 years old I want to help children and their families, who may not reach the age of 30, or may not have the physical strength to undertake these types of challenges."
Chesterfield boss Lee Richardson said: "Respect for what Robert is doing here and we hope many other local organisations will offer their support as well."
Robert Hepworth is supported by a fund-raising team of his Mum and Dad, Liz and Alan Hepworth from Dronfield who will also be his support team on the forthcoming challenges.
