STAVELEY MW FORMER PLAYERS v MEL STERLAND'S ALL STARS

(Jamie Naylor Memorial Match - Sunday 19th November 3pm)

A number of former football league professionals are set to grace the Inkersall Road turf in a memorial match for young Staveley MW striker Jamie Naylor who died tragically during the Summer. A Staveley MW Former Players side take on the Mel Sterland All-Stars on Sunday 19th November (3pm). The Welfare side, selected by former manager Dave Tromans, is set to include Chris Waddle, Mick Godber, ex-Chesterfield FC goalkeeper Phil Tingay and a number of players who steered Staveley to two Sheffield County Senior League titles in the 1990s.

The All-Star team will be made up of a number of big names and is likely to include John Sheridan, Chris Woods, Lawrie Madden, John Newsome, Ernie Moss, Andy Kowalski and a guest appearance by referee Uriah Rennie.

23-year-old Jamie was an instant hit at Inkersall Road following his arrival from Handsworth in January 2006. His seven goals in six games helped bring about an upturn in form as Staveley finished the season in a respectable mid-table position.

The entrance fee is £3 adults, £1.50 concessions and a matchday programme and refreshments will be available.

I strongly urge all Spireites to Support a popular young man at Inkersall Road and show the affinity we have as a club with our local teams.
