Just reading a book called Floodlit Dreams (How to save a football club) by Ian Ridley the sports journalist...it recalls the tale of how he tried to save Weymouth Football Club using his contacts in his profession. Around the time he became Chairman of the struggling side, his father was seriously ill and subsequently died...it's graphic to a certain extent and it just reminds you of what may happen in the future...it's a wonderful chapter in the book which equals sadness with joy and back to sadness eventually.
Darlington's ground is superb...a cut above the rest as far as our standards concerned but alas only 4000 there to see it, unbelievable was the lack of an atmosphere in the ground. If we ever get to that stage with our "New" ground then something's gone badly wrong.
