Jamie Hewitt scores in the Biggest Over-Achieving Game of our Clubs Life
An article in the Racing Post which looks at the over and under achievers of the 92 clubs, an article which places Chesterfield in Second Place behind Colchester United.
The Article studies the correlation between league standings and attendances and the results are of an intersting reading.
The biggest over achievers Colchester are ranked 46th for league position but 83rd for attendances a difference of 37. We are second with a league position of 51st with a crowd figure of 72 so the difference is 21, Coming up close are Blackburn and Wigan.

The biggest under achievers are Nottingham Forest closely followed by Sheffield Wednesday and the two Bristol Clubs and Southampton.

Technically speaking it's not hard to associate us with over achieving, you only have to look at the League Status over the past few years to know this. Bigger Clubs quite rightly have the bigger support and bigger revenue, but every once in a while a giant continues to fall, Manchester City were down and out,Sheffield Wednesday took two years to get out of our league, at the moment it's Nottingham Forest, what price Leicester City soon?
