Rotherham are due to go into administration tomorrow according the Sheffield Star and quite frankly I see no other option for them. Start again for the second time in two years and build from that. Sadly the options they have left themselves are woeful, no ground to sell, no players to sell nothing to sell but their soul.
I believe they will pull through but the true extent of the debt isn't known in local circles, the grants that they obtained for the new stand (which remains unfinished) have been spent, rumours circulating that they players haven't been paid are direct hits on what happened to us in 2000-2001. That time we had funds being embezzled by a ironically Rotherham born "Businessman" this time the Millers have nothing but themselves to blame. The dream of Championship football is something we can only hold at the moment but something which Scunthorpe and Colchester are desperately trying to hold onto, I doubt they will fall into the same trap as the Millers.
Off on holiday tomorrow, so I shall read with interest the next few days and see what becomes of this famous old South Yorkshire Club.
