Jamal Campbell-Ryce was brought into the squad just in time for the Colchester Utd home game and immediately his pace and trickery made an impression on the fans. We had read other supporter's views on him and they were very favourable and as time went on we saw glimpses of quality that were too good for League One. After his last game at Bournemouth he went over to the Spireite fans and thanked them and even shook their hands we thought that was it but Jamal went back to Charlton and rumours started to spread that he was on his way back to Derbyshire. At the eleventh hour Rotherham United came in with a bid and a huge wage increase so off he went to Millmoor with all our blessings and Good Luck Jamal.

Looking back when Mark Stallard signed for an initial month we thought Great because Mark Debolla was out injured and so was Caleb Folan so it's nice to have him in the team assuming then that he would be on his way after a month. He had a promising debut winning a penalty and looked the experienced striker we needed along with the Chief but as time went on Stall was struggling to get back into the team with most of the strikers back after injury. To be fair I don't think he was given a fair crack of the whip as in the three month period he only played ten games and managed to get two goals. Rumours are abound that this is one signing that will be coming back as Barnsley don't want to keep him, personally if he does come it's a good move. (by the way I have just informed Rotherham so they can make a desperate last minute bid)
Now Sammy Clingan would walk into my side any day along with Thomas Hitzlsperger he must be one of the most influential loan signings we have had. He first made his debut away at Hull City and he played alongside Gareth Davies and both of them ran the midfield and dominated at the KC. He was seen given verbal bashings to Steve Blatherwick something only a mad irishman could do, his calmness with the ball was something that was required and his superb strike at Hillsborough will never be forgotten by your editor and the thousands that were there. When Sammy signed he initially said that he wasn't going to sign for the long term as he has hopes of getting into the Wolves midfield. Clingan eventually played for the three maximum month period and bowed out after the Barnsley home game where he went about his usual business and nearly scored from a free kick (a rarity at Saltergate until Shinner waitied until the 88th minute). Once again warm applause and standing ovations were the order for someone who gave 100% and never let us down. Good Luck Sammy.
We wait to see what Roy can bring us next.
